Oh the irony of this one...

The screen of a tablet I bought from Argos had cracked. Never mind, I'm insured, I thought.

Supercover tried EVERY trick in the book to wiggle out of processing the claim. I mean EVERYTHING. Their final gambit was to insist my name was on the Argos receipt.

They had me calling Argos, who were dumbfounded and unable to help. I sent Supercover bank statements to prove I bought the tablet. NO, YOUR NAME'S NOT ON THE ARGOS RECEIPT, WE'RE NOT PROCESSING THE CLAIM. (You don't have your name on an Argos receipt and Argos can't create a special receipt just for you).

I persevered and got the Ombudsman involved. They ruled in my favour and asked Supercover to fix the tablet and pay a goodwill gesture.

After several more weeks of their faffing and my chasing the repair, they finally said 'we can't fix it. We'll pay for a replacement.'

They did indeed pay for the replacement. With an ARGOS GIFT CARD!!!!

Don’t know why they’re seems to be a lot of bad reviews about this company. It certainly made me very anxious about making a claim on my iPhone’s broken screen. All I can say is they are very professional from the original email to the last phone call they were quick to respond. Sent it off on the Monday and it was back on the Friday. Also gave me a option of seeing updates through out the week. The total cost was £50 excess and £8 special delivery from the Royal Mail. Would most definitely recommend this company to others

3 weeks ago my partner completed all necessaries and was told 3-10 working days for his mobile phone to be fixed or replaced. He chased them on day 11 having heard NOTHING and they confirmed the receipt of the phone but have since LOST his phone before starting any repairs on it! After phoning the company most days today he was told that if they could not sort it by the end of today he would get a replacement phone. He has since received an email stating that he won't get a replacement phone until they know what is wrong with the original phone, which is STILL LOST, and asked for all the details of the phone which have already been given several times over. So when and where does this end? Nobody at this company knows what they are doing. Nobody can find his reference number even though it was only issued 3 weeks ago. Nobody calls back when they say they are going to. Nobody gives a straight answer. They only have contact with the repairers by email....there are no contact numbers for customers to use or themselves. If this is not resolved next week then contact will made to the financial ombudsman as they have offered a replacement today which was accepted and at the end of today they have retracted. Disgusting service. Quick to take your money but not deliver on their promise.

If I could I would give this company 0 star. They are terrible! Please double check reviews before getting this insurance. I didn’t realise I was getting this insurance when I got it on my contract through EE. I thought it was EE, little did I know it wasn’t once my phone was stolen/lost. At first, I gave them a month to see if they could try and retrieve a new phone for me as I had no phone whatsoever, and they took forever to respond. Every email or phone call you do they take a week to respond just one message. Then through the phone, they don’t know anything about the primary source you’re trying to contact. It’s ridiculous. It’s now 3 months since I lost my phone and they have charged me either way. Every time I sent them documentations about the phone, they kept trying to make new excuses for new ones, etc, etc. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY. For all we know it’s fraud!! It’s definitely some kind of scam organisation. Stay away and let them fall to the ground!!

Took out a mobile insurance cover with this company but they couldn't be bothered to send confirmation email with all policy information (I was not sure if i was insured or not). I also sent them email but no response. If a company with a simple task of sending a confirmation email to it's new customers couldn't even do this then there will be big problems when it comes to making a claim.

Was robbed of my Samsung Galaxy S7 whilst travelling abroad. Surprised at the negative reviews, as my claim was completed and accepted within their service standards. They issued a brand new replacement phone as soon as the claim was accepted. I sent documents/evidence of everything they asked for in order to do their job quickly, and had no bother. Would definitely recommend this company based on my own experience.

This is a scam company and a fraud. They have terrible service and will do everything to avoid and deny your claim.

The company replaced my handset with a damaged handset and poor battery. When complained they agreed to send a replacement but would not send the handset first citing terms and conditions. When questioned they lied then agreed that terms and conditions aren’t clear. See it for your self.

Don’t waste your money on them.

Horrendous service.

A TOTAL SCAM- shouldn't be allowed to operate.

I took out a policy to cover my Iphone 6 while I was travelling abroad in August. I booked my supercover gadget insurance through Alpha insurance who offer it as an add-on to travel insurance. I lost the phone and claimed it back using Supercover. Anything you require from the company takes about 4 phone calls (waiting for half an hour at least each time on hold) so having finally got through they said they could send me a new phone (it had now been 3 weeks) with an £150 excess fee. Although I was annoyed to have to pay I agreed. I then received a refurbished NOT new phone which DID NOT WORK. I had to call again (...please hold again) and send the phone back. They sent me another refurbished phone once again FAULTY. At this point I decided I didn't want to pay for any of the phones they were sending me so called again issuing a complaint and asking for a full refund of my postage costs and the excess fee. I sent the phone back (this was over a month ago). About a week ago I received the refund for my postage in my account and an email saying they needed me to call and confirm my bank details so they could refund me for the excess fee despite the fact they had managed to transfer the smaller sum. I've spent hours on the phone with them, have been without a phone for months and am still awaiting £150 owed by them.

Wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Stay away, they are absolute crooks.
