The people were friendly and helpful. I was ignorant about accounting and made their job harder. Admittedly, I was a poor client. But the service was equally poor. VAT was so last minute and often incorrect. Bookkeeping was done irregularly (once a month if that). I had far too many bank accounts connected but received no advice about the right way to do things. For a corporation tax return I had to pay HMRC £110k when the real bill was about £25k as the accountants were unable to get an accurate figure. Again, I made their job hard, but as the professionals in the partnership, I would have expected TC Group to tell me what to do differently

After the sad passing of a family member, we were completely at a loss on how to handle her estate. Graham Boar, tax director at UHY Hacker Young, came to our rescue. His advice on probate and inheritance tax was invaluable. Graham provided step-by-step guidance on what we needed to do, making an extremely difficult process much easier to navigate. The inheritance tax advice was really useful, making sure we used all the allowances and thresholds available to us. We would never have known otherwise and would have paid more tax than was necessary. His clear explanations and empathetic approach made a world of difference. We couldn’t have done it without him. Highly recommend!

Used this company for my tax return for two years. First year was fine but this year was absolutely disgraceful. I was speaking to someone in the office via email and all seemed to be going well but then no communication at all, gave them the benefit of doubt and thought maybe they had become sick or off so emailed them and CC’d in customer services complaints address that I had received from their site and haven’t received anything from anyone since. Definitely will NOT be using their services again. I only went to them as my old accountant for many a year had retired and I got transferred to them.
