I booked the Laurelbank Hotel as a birthday treat for my partner. I had contacted them to book the stay and asked for the menus ahead of time as I am currently pregnant and on a restricted diet. I received a prompt and friendly response with the menus attached. The menu did look a little limited but there were things I could definitely have. We arrived on Wednesday (06/08/25) and checked in at 3pm. The rooms are located at the top of some steep stairs which is fine but we were put in the furtherest away room. I kind of thought they might have put us in a more accessible room due to me being pregnant (it’s the little things that make a difference). The room itself was basic, with a tiny bathroom relatively clean but it definitely needs some TLC. The bathroom needs grouting redone as it did look a little grubby. ||The meal at night was lovely we both really enjoyed it. The breakfast was basic. I had the full Fife which was tasty but my partner had poached eggs on toast, which honestly looked really sad and he said it wasn’t very tasty either. ||Overall, it was an okay stay but I don’t think we would return.

We booked an overnight with dinner.|We were met with Rhea who checked us in.|Dinner was superb. Great food and large portions. We were served by Rhea again and she was an absolute delight. Just the right combination of familiarity, friendliness and professionalism. |She is a credit to the place, she made our stay very pleasant and memorable

We stayed here for 2 nights as a group of 5 people walking the Fife Pilgrim Way. The staff were very nice, and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. |The bedroom was comfortable and adequate size; it did get a bit cold in the evening but there was an efficient electric heater. The bar downstairs was always busy and quite noisy, but the soundproofing seemed to be very effective and all our bedrooms were quiet. |On the first night, we wanted to get together and chat for an hour or so before the time our meal was booked; the bar and restaurant were both full but we noticed a function room called the Dimple room which was empty, and asked if we could sit there. To our surprise, the staff agreed and offered to bring us drinks in the room, which we accepted, then offered to let us eat there too so we had our own private dining room. Don't bank on this, because I think the room is often busy with wedding receptions etc |The food with good, with plenty of vegetarian options and they had a separate vegan menu which pleased some of us. |The breakfast was lovely, with freshly cooked food including freshly fried portobello mushrooms.

Fantastic stay at the hotel. Room 11 was great and very spacious. Food was very tasty. Restaurant very busy with regulars, I would return for the food. Big thanks to Eamonn for his recommendations, not food and places to visit. It really did make our stay a special break with some lovely sights. We will hopefully return again next year for a visit.

We had our wedding at The Laurel Bank on 02/08/2025 and we cannot recommend the venue enough, it was absolutely perfect. Steve was a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole planning process, nothing was too much to ask for and all our needs were met. It’s been over a month and our guests are still going on about how good the food was, how amazing the vibe was and how quick the service was.
I stayed over with my bridal party the night before and the rooms were perfect for us all getting glammed in the morning. The staff were super friendly and so accommodating.
We wish we could do it all over again.
I’ll be recommending The Laurel Bank to all future brides.

Four of us had a lovely lunch, with myself & one of our friends celebrating our Birthdays, so got the Birthday discount on our meal. Food was excellent, & a really good plateful. Only slight negative was that we felt the music was a bit loud, but not enough to put us off returning. Will definitely be back.

Several of us booked rooms there for after a wedding at nearby Balbirnie House, there was an issue with booking.com bookings though that led to them canceling two rooms and not informing those they had cancelled until they tried to check in - including one who had phoned ahead to confirm their reservation.
Those who booked direct with Laurel bank however got an affordable room - we were only £50 for a night in a small double, was clean and modern with a smart tv for netflix etc. Hence high stars despite the booking screw up.
