I have been with The Retail Mutual for a long period and have never had any cause to make a claim. However, due to a small fire at home, I have had to make a claim over the past month.
All I can say is a massive thank you to the team. You dealt with each stage of the claim with sensitivity and complete professionalism. I am amazed at how quickly the matter was resolved and the money paid into my account so that I am now able to get on with sorting out repairs and replacements.
In particular, I want to thank Emma Jones who dealt with the claim personally.

Didnt tell us our policy wouldnt auto renew despite it doing so for the past 10 years and it clearly stating in our contract. New insurer they are using is useless - requires police alarms and will not insure against theft until they are installed? Joke company. Went to axa and saved £700 so not all bad I suppose!

We are as small independent retailer and as for everyone it has been an extremely difficult year. The business highlight has been the agreement of Retail Mutual to accept claims for loss of profit during the lockdown. They have been professional and Emma Jones has been a pleasure to deal with - replying promptly to queries and providing updates throughout.
Retail Mutual have bucked the trend of a good many other insurers who are fighting against helping their customers during the pandemic - it is a welcome and refreshing attitude.

I can not praise The Retail Mutual enough having just received confirmation that they will be paying for Business Interruption caused by the pandemic. Whilst other insurance companies are still fighting the case in court, the RM have processed my claim as quickly as they could. This is the difference when dealing with a company who cares about the small business owner - I am an independent boutique on the High Street. It always takes a crisis to find out who are the best companies to deal with. I will continue to use the Retail Mutual well in to the future and want to thank them for looking after small retail businesses. I can now see a way forward in to 2021.

Absolutely awful company to deal with. Their customer service is appalling and I would not recommend this company to anyone. Having just found out my insurance won't be renewed after I called up and found out. Then to find out they have known for the last two weeks but didn't think a phone call to someone who has been with them for the last three years was required. Stay away!

I wasn't looking forward to piles of paperwork and hassle when claiming for loss of earnings and freezer connects due to storm Arwen but our handler Emma was brilliant!
The whole claim was handled with minium fuss and within a week.
