I would advise anyone getting married to avoid this insurance company if you value your money and mental health. We had an issue at our wedding which you would think would be covered by wedding insurance (and was written as being covered) car breaking down and not collecting the bride for the wedding. However they have disputed this and refuse to give any money. In fact any money we did get back had nothing to do with the insurance company. So we wasted £200+ getting insurance that didn't pay out.
Strongly advise not to use this company. They also pass on your insurance to another firm without informing you - white horse who again aren't great.
So save your money! Your no better with this insurance company than without it.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME & HARD EARNED MONEY WITH THEM. You'll end up dealing with the underwriter White Horse Ireland who will find every trick in the book not to pay out (Read the reviews on here, some of them are absolutely mad). For us, my Wife's grandfather passed away suddenly a couple of months away from the wedding day and they refused to pay out. We STILL believe we meet all of their T's & C's criteria for a payout. We were told that 12 weeks is "long enough to grieve", however they didn't accept our argument, that the venue was somewhere special to her grandfather and would have been completely inappropriate and would have spoilt the day and the mood.

Luckily the venue (which was in France) and suppliers had some heart, decency and common sense and we got most of the money back ourselves and we rebooked elsewhere with a different insurance provider.

Don't think that because your claim might be small, they'll be lenient. We only claimed for our venue deposit (£900) and they absolutely wanted nothing to do with it. I feel terribly sorry for those couples who have lost more due to Wedinsure (Read their reviews)

There is a reason they are one of the cheapest. They're an absolute scam. Pay the extra money, save yourself the grief/hassle and go to someone reputable. Will be amazed if they're about in a couple of years.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. 🗑 waste of time. Don't pay out claims, best man couldn't attend my wedding. I could have cancelled the whole thing and put in a big claim.
Didn't and opted to go ahead without best man and just put a small claim in for items related to him but they won't pay out.
Not happy. avoid.

👎 customer service. Please don't waste your money. Poor company. Cowboys.

Finally I get a response to this review. Lol. Should have paid out.
Do not buy insurance with them. The reviews say it all!

WARNING - PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH - WEDDING INSURANCE **EDITED AT THE REQUEST OF FAMILY**

We took out insurance with Wedinsure (White Horse Insurance Ireland) in May 2023 for our wedding in April 2024.

Putting it simply, our only concern was that of suppliers going bust or being unable to service our wedding and we wanted security.

Fast forward 10 months, 7 weeks away from our wedding and my dad collapsed, at home and passed away 6 days later 💔
We held his funeral this week 💔

He was 65, healthy, starting his 'gap year' (as he called it!) with my Mum, with holidays, motorbike road trips across Europe, cruises etc all booked.

And the insurance firm won't pay out because my dad had visited a GP in the 12 months PRIOR to us taking out insurance.

The professionals clearly state my dad's death had nothing to do with any current/ previous medical conditions and/ or conversations.
So does his death certificate.
BUT the insurance firm don't care about this. Won't listen to this. And are saying they believe it's indirectly linked!!!

My dad. A healthy 'young' man literally living his life and walking me down the aisle in weeks, gone. Myself and family going through hell, shock, utterly heartbroken. With additional trauma due to this situation.

Some suppliers have been incredible, some not so much. We are looking at a loss of £11,000. And no way of ever replacing that money now.

In comparison to losing my dad it's nothing. In comparison to never having him walk me down the aisle (childhood dream) it's nothing. BUT with 4 children and a wedding and/ or reception to rearrange, we won't ever have that money again anytime soon.

So...

Please, PLEASE look at your insurance. I never ever imagined I'd be in a position, cancelling or postponing my wedding because of my closest family passing away, I'd never ever have even considered it. But if it saves one person this hellish journey, the warning is worth it 💔💔

My wedding venue was closed down 4 days before my wedding and when I phoned to make a claim under failure to supply they told me they cannot pay out. They said unless it is in liquidation they cannot pay out!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They take your money and offer ZERO help or empathy !!!!

I would highly recommend WedInsure. My wedding was not only cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic but then company hosting also went into liquidation shortly after.

I had lost thousands and was quite frankly on pins about the thought of not having a successful claim. In the past, whether it be home or car insurance, there has always been some small print or obstacle which has caused issue. This was the not the case with WedInsure.

The process was straightforward, my claim was immediately transferred to the Claims Settlement Agencies Ltd where Alison Fowler (Head of Claims) was absolutely brilliant, answering any questions we had along the way, providing support and assurance. The policy I took out did everything I expected it to and more. We are very grateful for the service received from both parties.

Bought an insurance policy for our wedding a couple of years ago. Recently had to postpone due to Covid, and Wedinsure were amazing, really helpful and able to move our date immediately without any qualms. Knowledgeable, friendly and prompt customer service. Would recommend based on this. Can't speak for claiming (haven't needed to as of yet), but all the other reviews slating them for not paying out clearly didn't read the Ts & Cs when taking policies out (government acts are clearly exlcuded from cover on there).

An awful attitude for an insurance company specialising in insuring against unavoidable wedding cancellations. It certainly seems as though Wedinsure/Insuremore are cashing in on the fact they don’t need to rely upon customer loyalty. I’m surprised Aspen Insurance and XL Carlin/Axa are comfortable with such an approach. I sincerely hope those who have lost out significantly are successfully able to appeal to FOS on the basis of an unfair contract term. Our losses have “only” been in the hundreds of pounds thanks to suppliers who actually care about their customers (most of whom are self-employed and were within their rights to charge cancellation fees). Our concern now is that the longer this goes on, the higher the likelihood that our suppliers will either fail or have to start charging rearrangement fees if we need to postpone again.

If you read Wedinsure’s FAQs, it is just a long list of why “unfortunately” the policy doesn’t cover the majority of current risks. We have no faith in Wedinsure but no alternative to find an alternative insurer now this is a known event. Given the sums involved (largely gifted by family) Wedinsure have managed to make the whole experience far worse.

If you are reading this review in the future and considering taking out cover, please think again. There is no point buying insurance from a
company which seeks ways to refuse claims.
