Marc is a nice guy and seemed like a good agency. I signed up so he could help me find a buy to let mortgage. I was charged £200 to get a quote from the Shawbrook bank - I was hoping to have more quotes - which I found to be unfair. After I had his quote I got another offer for 1% less from another broker whom did not charge me with a fee to quote. When I raised the issue he threatened me with a debt collector and legal action and made out that it was always my fault for not reading his small print- I would not recommend this company and found a ,much better deal from an agent that did not charge for a quote.

You know what? I get that a large percentage of the population believe that finance brokers are just double glazing salesmen with much better suits and if I was pushed hard into a corner I might be inclined to agree in general that this may well be the case. Fortunately there are companies like wharf out there that are true, died in the cloth, devout, devoted dream makers.

These guys are not brokers, they are financial wizards who, when given the opportunity, are able to do what others say they can do but never do.
Joe Taylor has worked with me tirelessly now on a project for over 6 months to acquire that which has always been out of reach to most.
On the 28th June 2024, almost exactly 6 months to the day, I was presented with the keys for this absolutely beautiful grade 2 listed property that will very soon become the highest quality rented apartments in derby.
The journey to this point has been fraught with pitfalls, low points and difficult obstacles but Joe has worked tirelessly to ensure that he got me the funding I needed to bring this dream to a reality.
I won’t go into details here but suffice to say that of all of the literally dozens of brokers and finance houses I have presented this scheme to, wharf were the only ones who were able to do what they say they are going to do…
So do yourself a favour, don’t bother with the usual crowd of under deliverers, just save wharfs number and call them first… it might be the most important phone call you ever make!
