Alex Normand has always been extremely helpful and prompt in replying, she is a real asset to the company who I have only had good experience with.

Normally I am quite scathing about anything in the flat / rental / estate agent market. However Anna at Scanlans has been amazing.
The whole cladding /EWS1 fiasco has been a horrid experience for the last 5 plus years, but Anna has worked really hard to keep us informed in a timely and reasoned fashion - often taking flak for occurrences and processes far out of her control.
We hope that we are lucky and our journey coming to its end but I know it would have been a much more trying experience without her help. Thankyou

This company are taking incredibly high management fees from people. Causing significant financial distress. Not replying to emails. Only sending out threats for payments. Yet all the while cashing in on the fact that residents are living in UNSAFE BUILDINGS that are not fireproof.

Good job Scanlans. How about you get the cladding resolved. Get morals and stop ripping families off. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves. You will be the next big scandal.

Christian Taylor, is probably one of the most incompetent property managers I have ever come across.

I own a property in Manchester, and over the years since Scanlans started to manage the property, service charge has gone up significantly with no justification. In fact, recently we were billed for a service charge from 2 years ago. Christian also for someone who sits in front of a computer all day, struggles to reply back to your email when you challenge him or report issues. To the general public that are reading this review and are also getting shafted by this cowboy of a trade. it’s worth reporting them to the TPO (Property Ombudsman) or Redress Scheme. I challenged the previous management company with the help of TPO, and they all of a sudden gave up managing our development.

Wooden gates have been broken for years, only recently someone got injured from them and Scanlans did a shoddy job repairing them. They are quick to ask for money, but never fix anything. Trash everywhere on the development, homelessness breaking in and squatting.

Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill which was announced in 2023, will protect us property owners from not only the management companies but also those who we pay ground rent to. It will give us more power to challenge these cowboys.

Poor service avoid at all costs. Safety concerns and repairs took over a year to fix. They were repeatedly informed about mold and damp in communal areas as well as individual flats, this was ignored every time and then the celling fell down. Because of their lack of action my tenants moved out. Constantly having to chaise Andrew and Christian for updates and responses.

Would definitely NOT recommend - we are having to pay for a service NOT delivered in a reasonable and timely manner with security and safety issues taking many months to get in hand. We had to constantly chase over months to escalate matters to get things eventually resolved, however are still expected to pay for the 'property management' service as a standard charge which is VERY unreasonable and frustrating, especially when so much of our personal time had to be given to push matters to a resolve. There have also been inconsistencies in what is and isn't meant to be covered by the maintenance charge. VERY poor and disappointing service.

I have been dealing with Ian Magenis (partner) whose main aim is be as unhelpful and antagonistic as possible. Over 10 months since I originally requested my data subject access request and I have still not received.

ICO have had to get involved and tell them they have to supply however they keep delaying and I have had to go back to the ICO.

I own my property and they left me without my main bathroom for over a year due to a communal leak and Scanlans using substandard contractors. I spend 12 months being lied to, fobbed off and inconvenienced then when you make a formal complaint Ian gets involved gaslights you, refusing to speak to you verbally to ensure a thorough investigation takes place and gives you a computer says no response.

He spends his time blaming you or the directors who employ Scanlan’s but refuses to give you their details or allow you to speak to them.

Once I have my DSAR I will be taking legal advice because the only way these bully tactics from this company will stop is if people hold them accountable.

Also the way they run the accounts is questionable, I wonder if they are ever audited as every year we get a considerable increase (which I get due to cost of living) however because we have yearly increase to account for this I don’t understand why we are always having additional charges added in for previous years over spend and in some cases charges for overspends for two year previous.

Scanlon's- The WORST EVER Property Management Gangsters! Where NOTHING is Managed or Maintained. Our Windows have not been cleaned in 8 Months- when supposed to be done every second week. Lift is STILL Broken after a week- and the entire Communal Areas resemble an 18th Century SLUM! Truly Despicable Company!!!
